The Buddha is made from resin and has been finished with a bright flocked surface. Flocking creates a tactile surface and adds texture and depth to the finish.

Chinese or Laughing Buddha are often depicted as an amply proportioned bald man wearing robes, carrying his few possessions with him in his hands or in a cloth sack. This represents contentment, he is poor but happy.
